An Early Christmas Present

Life has been crazy busy these past few weeks. Our world has been filled with cleaning, packing, moving, unpacking, cleaning, Thanksgiving, painting, unpacking, and guess what…we’re still not fully unpacked yet. I keep telling myself to take everything one step at a time and we’ll get there eventually.

A few good things:

We ordered a bunch of stuff from Cabela’s (I would’ve ordered MUCH more stuff if we would’ve had it in our budget. I’m slightly obsessed with Cabela’s, although not quite as obsessed as J is). My favorite item is of course my new jacket:

.

Isn’t it cute?! I just love it. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it too. When we were at Lowe’s, getting the supplies to paint our room, I had two of the girls that worked there tell me how much they liked it. Then last night at a late Thanksgiving dinner we went to, I heard one of the women say to her daughter, “Look at her coat, isn’t it beautiful?” Even though they’re talking about the coat, in some weird way it makes me feel good. As if someone complimenting me on my coat is also them complimenting me. Weird I know, but hey I’ll take what I can get.

You can see more views of the coat here and they have more color options at Columbia’s website. It even comes in purple, but of course I’m partial to the white and brown.

I had a four day weekend over the Thanksgiving holiday and I even got paid for two of those days, awesome right? The crappy part is I was sick for all of them. My boss started getting sick a week or so ago and I just knew it was coming after me next. I’m feeling better today, but I’m just hoping it goes away soon because I’m getting really sick and tired of being sick and tired.

I’m still trying to decide on an official blog name, I’m so indecisive I swear. I just keep thinking that when I think of the name it will be this AHA! moment and I’ll just instantly know, “That’s it! That’s the perfect name!” Perhaps I just need to pick a name and stick with it, but I want to make sure it’s the right name.

I also need to get a design or attempt to design a layout myself. The past few days I’ve been catching up on blogs and thinking a lot about my blog. I want to make an attempt to blog more and to get my blog out there in the blogosphere (after I pick a name and design of course). Since everything is starting to calm down more around our house I should have more time to devote to blogging more and getting back in touch with my creative side. I would like to thank Kerri and Kaleigha for the inspiration.

Give It Away Now

Please excuse the Chili Pepper’s song reference, I couldn’t help myself.

I’ve been trying for so long to convince J to let me buy a laptop with my bonus that’s coming in January. My current laptop is almost four years old and it’s falling apart. The screw in the lower right hand corner of the screen has decided to detach itself, so every time I go to close my laptop it is actually peeling away from itself, it’s quite sad. My poor old, decrepit laptop.

Yes my laptop is fully functioning, but it has seen better days. It needs some serious TLC. I’d like to retire it and put it out to pasture. I’ve had it through the last two years of college and it’s been a trusty sidekick, but I think it’s time for it to take a breather.

For awhile now I’ve had my eye on Dell’s new slim laptop, the Inspiron 11z.

I’m definitely a PC girl myself. I’ve used Mac’s before, but there’s just something I love about PC’s.

Last week my friend Jenn over at Free and Flawed announced via Twitter that she had something very exciting in the works for Wednesday of this week. Guess what it was…A LAPTOP GIVEAWAY!! You can imagine my extreme excitement. I’m just hoping and praying that I win it.

Oh and Alexa at Cleveland’s a Plum is having a laptop giveaway as well. Enter both of them! Or don’t since that will be more chances for me 😉 Good luck everyone!
